Other Fees & Disclaimers:

Racing on rental bikes

As much as us here at Another Bike Shop love racing bikes and want to see racers of all levels out competing, we unfortunately do not allow our rental bikes to be raced and will charge an additional $500 to your rental cost if you are found racing the rental bike. If you are coming to the area for racing, we can assist in professionally building and tuning your bike before your event.

Rental terms and cancellation policy

We require a credit card to be placed on file in order to book your reservation, and you will be charged in full at the time of your rental. We require at least 48 hours notice for all cancellations - any cancellations within 48 hours of your reservation will result in a fee of 20% of your total rental cost, automatically charged to your card on file.

Late rental returns

Rental bikes must be returned before 5pm on Weekends and 6pm on Weekdays. We do not have a grace period for late returns. A mechanic needs to check over the bike after every rental return and if you are late then the mechanic needs to stay after hours.  A minimum charge of $35 will be applied for a rental that is returned even 5 minutes late up to 15 minutes.  And $35 for every 15 minutes after. Plan your ride wisely...plan your travel wisely...Don't be late!

Damage policy

We offer a $50 damage insurance policy that covers up to $250 in bike damage. Anything beyond that, or any amount of damage greater is the responsibility of the rider. if you decline coverage, the rider is responsible for all damage that occurred during their rental..

Rain cancellation

We do not allow our bikes to go out after recent rains. To help protect the trails in the area, we will not be sending out bikes on rainy days. If the trails are closed and rentals need to be changed, we will contact you by 9:15am on the day of your rental to help you reschedule to a better day. Thanks for your understanding and assisting us in protecting our local trails.

Cleaning fee

Although we do not allow our bikes to go out in the rain and muddy conditions, there is still a chance you may find some mud bogs weeks after a rain. If you decide to run through that bog and return a bike with excessive caked on mud, we will charge a cleaning fee of $50. In order for us to properly inspect the bike after rental, we need to be able to see the frame and parts that could be covered by mud.

Approved transportation methods

Bikes must be transported in an approved method. These include hitch tray racks, tailgate with a pad, roof rack(excluding certain ebikes). All frame damage caused by pedals and or bike racks and or truck beds and or shoving a bike into a car will result in damage fees assessed at the time of return. Be careful with these bikes like they are your own.

Rental Bikes are not permitted at Lift Served Bike Parks

We do not allow any of our bikes to be ridden at Northstar Bike Park or Mammoth. We recommend going through the rental program at the parks themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Same day rental

If you are looking for a bike to RENT TODAY... just call the shop you want to rent from and inquire about the availability.

- Reno 775-800-1412
- Santa Cruz 831-427-2232

The dates I would like to ride are greyed out on the calendar - Can I still book a rental?

If the date on the calendar is greyed out, then we are fully booked for that day. Weekends fill up 3-4 days in advance.

Can I leave my car parked at Another Bike Shop, INC.?

Yes you may! Both shops have a short commute to trail access, so you can roll straight out from either SHOP.

How do I transport the bike?

With suitable tray-style racks or a pickup truck you may transport the bike elsewhere to ride. We double-check your setup to make sure it can bear the weight and won’t damage the bikes. We prefer that bikes aren’t transported inside of a vehicle, but if you must, we only allow one bike to be transported that way.

Why didn't I receive a confirmation email?

We find our confirmation email often goes to the spam folder. If you still cannot see a confirmation email for your booking please feel free to text us at (775)800-1412-Reno and (831)427-2232 Santa Cruz

What does the damage coverage take care of?

The optional $50 insurance covers any damage on the bike up to $250. In the event that the cost to fix the bike is more than $250, then the damage coverage knocks $250 off the total price of repair.

Can I apply my rental fee to purchasing a bike from Another Bike Shop?

Yes YOU can! You can apply up to 2 rental fees towards the purchase of a bike. Not to exceed $400.

*Must be redeemed within 30 days from first rental*

What is included with each rental?

We have a limited supply of helmets and pedals, so we highly encourage bringing your own. We can supply standard flat pedals for rental bikes. If you ride a different pedal, you will need to bring your own, which we are happy to install for your rental ride.

What is included in the flat fix kit?

The Flat Fix Kit comes in a Dakine Gripper pack and includes a master link, a chain tool, a set of Pedro's tire levers, a CO2 Cartridge with a trigger, and a 27.5"/29" compatible tube. Rider is responsible to replace anything used or lost during the rental and will be charged to original form of payment.
